Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

By creating an account or otherwise using KVB Chat at chat.kvb.gg (the service), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these terms from time to time, and we will post a notice in the announcements channel when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

2. Who can use the service

You must be at least thirteen years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. The service is offered globally but may be unavailable in regions where local law prohibits it.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep your email current so we can reach you about important account matters.
• If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, contact staff immediately so we can lock it.
• One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts to evade bans, manipulate votes or giveaways, or impersonate other users.

4. Acceptable use

To keep the community welcoming and the service stable, you agree not to do any of the following.

• Post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that promotes self harm.
• Send unsolicited advertising, malware links, phishing attempts, or coordinated spam.
• Impersonate staff, other users, or any real person or organization.
• Attempt to break the service through exploits, denial of service, automated scraping, or abuse of the API.
• Bypass rate limits, the site gate, role permissions, or any other technical restriction.
• Upload files containing viruses, illegal content, or material you do not have the right to share.
• Use the service to violate the privacy or intellectual property rights of others.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting, you grant KVB Chat a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, display, transmit, and back up your content for the purpose of operating the service. This license ends when you or we remove the content, except for backups that may persist for up to ninety days and ticket transcripts that staff may retain under a generic placeholder name for support history.

You represent that you have the rights to anything you post and that your content does not violate the rights of any third party.

6. Moderation

Staff may remove any message, attachment, custom emoji, profile element, or account that violates these terms or that we judge to be harmful to the community, even if it does not strictly violate a listed rule. We may issue warnings, time outs, channel bans, or permanent account termination. We do not owe you advance notice of enforcement, but we will try to be transparent when we can.

7. Service availability

The service is provided as is. We make a best effort to keep it online and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, freedom from bugs, or that your data will always be available. We may take the service down for maintenance, upgrades, or to respond to incidents.

8. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time and request that your account be deleted. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your account is dormant for an extended period, or if continuing to provide service to you would create a legal or operational risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will continue to apply.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KVB Chat and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed one hundred United States dollars or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless KVB Chat and its operators from any claim arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the service operator is established, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer protection law gives you a stronger right.
